When you place your Motorola H720 Bluetooth headset into pairing mode, it allows you to establish a connection between the headset and another Bluetooth device, like a mobile phone or computer. Once you go through the pairing process, your headset will remember the devices you have paired it with and will automatically connect to the first paired device it comes across. The H720 will automatically enter pairing mode when you turn it on, as long as you have met a few other conditions.

Step 1
Plug the Motorola H720's charger into an electrical outlet; then plug the smaller end into the port on the headset's rear end. Let the headset charge up for at least 20 minutes before removing the charger, as the headset will need at least that much of a charge to stay in pairing mode.
Step 2
Push down on the H720's boom mic to flip it closed, if it is open. The mic will collapse against the rest of the headset. This process will turn the headset off.
Step 3
Turn off any nearby device that the H720 has ever been paired with. If the headset discovers a device in the area that is has a connection with, it will not be able to go into pairing mode.
Flip the H720's boom mic open. Wait a few seconds for the H720's indicator light to turn a steady blue. When the light is blue, your H720 is now in pairing mode.

The Motorola H720 Bluetooth headset is a second-generation Bluetooth headset designed to work with Bluetooth-compatible devices like cell phones, computers and video game consoles. The H720 is designed to connect easily to any Bluetooth-capable device and produce a reliable connection. However, if you find yourself having issues with this headset, you can take several steps to troubleshoot common issues.
Step 1
Pair the headset with the device again. If it has been a long time since you have used the H720 headset, it may have fallen out of sync with the device you are using it with. This is easily remedied by initiating the pairing mode on the headset (by pressing the big button on the outside of the headset) and waiting until the light on the headset turns purple. Then put the device you are hoping to use the headset with into pairing mode and wait until the devices find each other.
Step 2
Fully charge the headset. If the phone will not enter pairing mode, it may not have enough power to complete the operation. Connect the headset to the AC adapter and then wait until there is a solid light coming from the headset (indicating a full charge) and try pairing the headset again.
Make sure the device you are trying to pair the headset with is compatible. Since the H720 is a second-generation Bluetooth device, it is incompatible with devices that can pair with devices that conform to the 1.0 Bluetooth standard. Check your device's owner's manual for compatibility details.
